I am a part-time second and third grade Reading Coach here at Southwest Elementary. I have taught 32 years and retired to start this new adventure. After one year of being a Reading Coach I have found my dream job! I love teaching children that are excited about learning! Now, let me tell you a little about myself. I graduated from Weatherford High School and then I attended SWOSU where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree in Reading Specialist. I have wanted to be a teacher from the age of 10. I love teaching with a passion! I guess you can say that teaching has been my life long dream. My favorite thing about teaching is watching a child's face light up when they are learning something new.
Now, a little about my family. My parents are Ferrell and Sue Roles. I have one brother, Clint Roles. He is a retired fireman and a paramedic from Weatherford. I have a niece and a nephew, Lauren and Logan Roles. I also have a new puppy named, Watson. Watson is full of energy and greets me everyday with a wagging tail after school.
My goal is to help improve the reading skills of second and third grade students who are struggling. I will work with these students in small groups to teach and improve their reading skills. My hope is to instill the enjoyment of reading for a lifetime!
