Spelling list and contract activities

Spelling contract activities

1. Write the words in a list and circle all the vowels (a, e, i, o, u,); rewrite all of the words again in a list and circle all the consonants. You will need to have two separate lists of words..

2. Write the words in ABC order and then write the words a second time and separate them by syllables. You will need to have two separate lists of words..

3. Write the words in a list and then rewrite the words backwards; then rewrite the words again using different colors for each letter. You will need to have three lists of words.

4. Write the words with your opposite hand. IE.. If you are right handed use your left hand. Write each word three times each.

5. Write all of the words each five times each.

6. Scramble the letters in each word. Write the answer next to each word. OR  Write the words with some of the letters missing. Then beside it rewrite to complete the blanks.

7.  Print each word. Next to it, write the word in cursive.
8.  Draw and color a picture. “Hide” the words in the picture. Do not color over the words. OR  Create a shape pattern using all of the words. (You can make several shapes to include all of the words) 

9. Write the words like a latter  EX. a

                           ap

                                                          app

                                                          appl

                                                          apple    

10. Write a sentence for each word. You may combine sentences if they make sense.

11. Write OR type a story, poem, rap, or song using as many as you can of the spelling words. Circle the words that you use.

12. Make flashcards cutouts from regular paper for all of the spelling words. Write the word and the definition OR an example of how the word is used..

13. Take a practice test at home or with a partner. Write any missed word 3x each. Include a parent/partner signature on the test.

 14. Make, print, and complete a word search using www.puzzlemaker.com OR make your own crossword or word search puzzle

15. Create your own project; Requires all of the spelling words to be written at least once.
