I currently teach 4^th grade at Southwest, and a I have been teaching at Southwest (same grade, same classroom) for about 12 years.

In 1999 I began teaching Spanish at the middle school.  After two years I went to teach Spanish at the high school ( I can’t quite remember how long I was there).  I then came to Southwest to teach 4^th grade, and I have been here ever since. It was a great challenge coming to teach little kids after teaching the higher grade levels, but I find that I enjoy it immensely.  

I am a single mom to 6 kids.  I have one biological daughter and 6 nieces and nephews that I have raised.  My oldest daugher, Melissa, is an RN at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma CIty.  My oldest son, Jose, went to Vo-Tech and has a welding degree.  My other son, Austin, graduated this past year.  He is working at Bar-S for now, but he plans on going to college next year.  Kiki, my 16 year old son, is a sophomore in Clinton,  Americus, my 14 year old daughter, will be a freshman in Clinton this year.  My youngest daugher, Chloe, is 13 years old,  She will be a 7^th grader this year.  All of my kids enjoyed playing soccer, except Chole and Melissa.  Melissa and Chloe are the singers of the family.  Melissa was in choir when she was in school and Chloe is in choir now.  They love to sing.  It’s nice when they are together, and I get to listen to them siing.

Sometimes life can get very hectic at home, but it can also be a lot of fun.

Because of my big and busy family, I dont usually have too much free time. However, I do enjoy working on crossword puzzles and reading.
