November is a month that give us time to reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives.  At SW we are thankful for the opportunity to help kids learn and become better citizens.  We are also thankful for the Veterans that paved the way for us to have that opportunity.  Please take time this month with your student to let them reflect on what they are thankful for in their lives.

November 5th thru 16th  is the Clinton PTO Squeaky Clean Hygiene Drive.  Help the Clinton PTO stock our Hygiene Closet at SW.  They are looking for soap, laudry detergent, shampoo, washcloths, deodorant, brushes, toothpaste, lice treatment.

Monday, November 12th we will be celebrating Veterans Day at SW during our morning Rise and Shine.  If you would like to attend, or know a veteran that will be attending, please contact Mr. Meget at SW.

Friday, November 16th is “Donuts with Dudes” sponsored by the Clinton PTO.  Bring your father, grandpa, uncle, or special dude in your life to school for a donut.  We will be serving from 7:00am to 7:30am in the cafeteria.

November 19th thru 23rd is Thanksgiving Break for Clinton Public Schools.

Continue to check in with your kiddos on the following areas:

  1. ‚ÄčAR:  Your Student and/or their Teacher are on top of their daily progress. AR helps kids get better at Reading comprehension. Students get excited about reaching goals. Check in with your student on their progress. If it’s important to you, it’ll be important to them
  2. Math fluency is a point of emphasis at SW. We want kids to be great at process math facts instantly. It will set them up for future success in our CPS math program.  Once again, check in with your student.  They know how they’re doing. If they need help, call/email/talk with the classroom teacher. They’d love to share ideas for success in math fluency.
