My name is Carla Marshall and I teach 2nd grade at Southwest Elementary School. I have been a teacher in Clinton for 18 years. I was a substitute teacher and assistant for one year before I began my teaching career. I have taught Developmental 1st, Kindergarten (for 10 years), 1st grade and now 2nd grade. My love for the "little ones" keeps me going even when I feel I can't go anymore! I grew up in Anadarko (yes, I am a former Warrior :-). After graduating from high school, I attended SWOSU where I majored in Elementary Education with endorsements in Early Childhood, Language Arts and Physical Education. I always knew I would be a teacher. I grew up with a mom as a PE teacher for 35 years, an uncle as a Principal and Superintendant, cousins that are Principals, Counselors and Psychometrists and many other family members in the teaching field. These family members also played and important role in my decision to become a teacher.
My family consists of my husband, Justin who I’ve been married to for 19 years and three "red tornado" children. My daughter, Cassidi, is 14 years old and in 9th grade. She stays busy playing volleyball, and basketball. My twin boys, Cayson and Cannon, are 11 years old and in 6th grade. They also love sports. Cannon, my blonde haired, brown eyed twin; plays baseball, basketball and football (his favorite being baseball). Cayson, my brown haired, green eyed twin plays the same sports. His favorite is also baseball. They love to hunt and fish with their Dad and Papa Don in their “spare” time. My hobbies are attending my children's games and activities several days a week, spending time with my family and reading.
I feel so honored and blessed to have a job that allows me to work with such wonderful children every day!
